Kim Posnett Becomes 1st Woman to Lead Goldman Sachs
Kim Posnett just got promoted to the designation of Co-Head of Global Investment Banking Services at Goldman Sachs, the only place more difficult to get into than Harvard or Yale. Bloomberg posted on September 15th that not only has this promotion made her the first woman to reach that level at Goldman, but she is also the youngest person to do so at just the age of 42 years old.
Kim Posnett has been working with Goldman Sachs since 2005. She was promoted to Managing Director in 2012 and Partner in 2016. She has been working as the Co-Chief of Global Technology, Media and Telecom at the world’s American premier investment bank. The company is known for its extremely difficult acceptance rate of 4%, which is lower than even Harvard or Yale universities! Posnett will be co-heading the bank as the first woman to reach this designation and will be working alongside Matt Gibson.
Kim Posnett is announced to join the bank’s executive committee according to a spokesperson confirming the news to Bloomberg. She is already on the partnership committee and the business standards committee.
Amongst the thousands of people congratulating the new co-head of Goldman is the CFO of the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc.), Kristina Salen who posted on LinkedIn about her experience working with Posnett:
The memo from the bank’s co-heads Gregg Lemkay and Dan Dees that announced Posnett’s promotion stated, “Kim and Matt will work together to drive our client coverage strategy, strengthen our network of trusted advisory relationships, and reinforce the importance of providing seamless coverage to clients.”
