Bakhtawar & Mahmood Tie the Knot!
The eldest daughter of Pakistan’s first female Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and former president Asif Ali Zardari, Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari has just gotten engaged to Mahmood Choudhry in a private ceremony held at the Bilawal House in Karachi, Pakistan on Friday, November 27th, 2020.
The bride, Bakhtawar, is the first of her Bhutto-Zardari siblings to get married. She wore a custom Nida Azwer Atelier lehenga-choli dress in a soft baby pink with a printed cape draped over her shoulders and a chiffon dupatta over her head. Her makeup was the craftsmanship of Syed Zubair from Sabs Salon. The groom, Mahmood, wore a plain white shalwar kameez and matching shawl that was draped over one shoulder. Both the bride and groom were dressed in Pakistani traditional attire for the engagement ceremony that complied with the government’s given Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with guests visibly wearing masks in the photographs released on The Express Tribune website.
According to the Tribune’s coverage of the ceremony, Zardari’s sister Faryal Talpur, Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, Benazir’s sister Sanam Bhutto, PPP leader Dr. Asim Hussain, Omni Group Chairman Khawaja Anwar Majeed and numerous other notable personalities were in attendance at the event.
The event photography was covered by Natasha Zubair with direction from Hashim Ali while the videography portion of the coverage was expertly managed by Noorulain Ali and Ali Khurshid. Kashif Gujjar sang for the couple for their ceremony.
