Peshawar Mourns Again

Less than six years after the Peshawar APS school massacre of December 16th, 2014, a religious school which is known as a madrassa in the same city faced a bomb blast that has until now (12:05 PM PKT) taken the lives of 7 (seven) people with 4 of them being children. About seventy others have been wounded in the bomb blast that shook the school of Jamia Zubairia, a religious school mostly for adult students, many of whom were at the study hall when the blast happened.

On October 27th, 2020 at 08:30AM Pakistan Time, the school of Jamia Zubairia in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan was shook with a blast after an eyewitness saw a man enter the school building with a bag of explosives, and then leave the lecture hall before the blast went off.

Shafqat Malik, the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of the Peshawar Police told the Express Tribune of Pakistan that 5 kilograms of explosives were found to be used in the blast. Meanwhile, Mohammad Ali Gandapur, another senior level police official confirmed that two teachers were wounded in the attack. Unfortunately, no group has claimed responsibility for the incident as of yet.
