Happy Birthday to His Holiness, the Dalai Lama!

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of the Tibetan people, Llamo Thondup turned 85 years old yesterday, and followers and supporters alike are wishing him on his special day from all over the world!

This year, for his birthday, the Dalai Lama released his debut album titled ‘Inner World’, a selection of mantras and Buddhist teachings set over the background of tranquil music. In a statement, he said, “Music has the potential to transcend our differences. It can return us to our true nature of warm-heartedness… The very purpose of my life is to serve as much as I can. Music can help people in a way that I can’t.” –Dalai Lama

The album is inspired by NZ musician Junelle Kunin who first approached HHDL about releasing a collection in 2015. Now, the album features 11 tracks recorded by Junelle and co-produced by Abraham Kunin, her husband who composed the music.
