Fall 2020 Newborn Babies of Musicians
Over the past week, two of the world’s beloved musicians welcomed newborn baby girls into their families, and we can’t wait for the pictures to come out!
On September 1st, 2020, English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran and his wife of two years Cherry Seaborn welcomed their baby girl and named her Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran. The musician had been MIA from social media since December last year and only came back online to announce the birth of their first child together. He reappeared on the 1st to upload a photograph of a knit blanket and baby socks with a message saying:
“Ello! A quick message from me as I have some personal news that I wanted to share with you… Last week, with the help of an amazing delivery team, Cherry gave birth to our beautiful and healthy daughter – Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran. We are completely in love with her. Both mum and baby are doing amazing and we are on cloud nine over here. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Lots of love and I’ll see you when it’s time to come back, Ed x”
Meanwhile, late last month, American singer-songwriter Katy Perry and her English actor fiancé Orlando Bloom welcomed their own little bundle of joy, naming her Daisy Dove Bloom. Instead of announcing their daughter’s arrival themselves, Perry and Bloom let UNICEF announce her birth because of their ambassadorship and close work with the organization. The announcement included a welcome from UNICEF saying, “Welcome to the world, Daisy Dove Bloom! We are honoured to introduce Goodwill Ambassadors @KatyPerry and @OrlandoBloom’s new bundle of joy.”
It was followed by a message from the parents that read:
“We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,” said Katy and Orlando. Their message continued by saying, “But we know we’re the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was. Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers… As UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors, we know UNICEF is there, on the ground, doing whatever it takes to make sure every expecting mother has access to a trained health worker and access to quality healthcare. In celebration of the heart we know our daughter already has, we have set up a donation page to celebrate DDB’s arrival. By supporting them, you are supporting a safe start to life and reimagining a healthier world for every child. We hope your ♥️ can bloom with generosity. Gratefully- Katy & Orlando.”
