Bomb Threat in Paris
Yesterday on Tuesday, October 27th, multiple parts of Paris were cordoned off after a bomb threat based on a blue bag holding ammunition that was found around afternoon at 3 PM local time.
The areas that were sealed include the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the Metro line and stations of the areas concerned, and the Paris Champ de Mars park near the Eiffel Tower. All of these areas were evacuated after the security threat and the Paris police was deployed to the Arc and other areas of the popular French city.
By around 4:30 PM, all areas and corresponding traffic were reopened once the threat subsided and it was confirmed that the blue bag only held ammunition and bullets of multiple types.
Over the past few weeks since the beheading of the French history teacher Samuel Paty by the Muslim immigrant boy Abdullakh Anzorov, the entire country and especially Paris have been on high alert with numerous false bomb threats causing areas to get sealed and checked out. Not only was the teacher killed, the Muslim boy was also shot dead by the Parisian police during a confrontation after his Twitter confession.
