Everything to know about Prince Philip’s funeral
The Duke of Edinburg, Prince Philip passed away on 9th April 2021 because of sudden health deterioration.
Prince Philip was the husband of the ruling Queen Elizabeth; the two shared a beautiful romance for 74 years.
Most ruling monarchs have their funerals planned and designed during their life, as a part of royal protocol.
Prince Philip’s funeral plan is called Operation Forth Bridge; and as per his requests the procession should be held with minimum fuss and privately.
Due to COVID concerns, the funeral will only have 30 people in attendance. Prince Philip’s family for Germany will also be present; days before the funeral, all royal family members were asked to quarantine until the ceremony.
Prince Harry will also be joining his family, however, Meghan Markle can’t travel due to her pregnancy.
The Duke’s German relatives are also attending; whose ancestors were not invited to Princess Elizabeth and Philip’s wedding because of the Second World War.
The funeral will be held at Windsor Castle, behind closed doors. There will also be a nationwide moment of silence in England on 17th April.
